NEW SOUTH WALES FIGHT. REFERENDUM MOTION DEFERRED. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Reed. 12.45 a.m.) SYDNEY, Feb. 16. In the Legislative Council to-day the motion in the name of Mr. C. W. Oakes asking for a referendum to be taken before any vote is sought on the proposed abolition of the Upper House was allowed to stand over until Thursday.
