AUSTRALIAN WINE BOUNTY.

REQUEST FOR CONTINUANCE.

Australian wins exporters are given a bounty from the public funds of 4s per gallon on wine exported. Wine coming to New Zealand in bulk enjoys this bounty. It expires in 1927; but efforts are being made to continue, it. At a recent meeting of grape growers at Griffith it was resolved: "That as the local consumption of wines cannot be expected to increase proportionately with production, and as the export of wines to England is impossible without a bonus, the Federal Government be asked to continue the export bounty from 1927 to' 1932, believing that- this is necessary for successfully carrying on the industry."
