FRENCH WARSHIP'S VISIT.

: *•— . {. . MORE OFFICIAL CALLS. THE PARTY FOR ROTORUA. Official calls were paid yesterday by Captain J. Deeoux, of the French' naval sloop Cassiopee, to the Mayor of Auckland, Mr. G. Baildon, and Colonel H. R., Potter, Commandant of the Northern Command,; both of whom returned the calls later? on board the warship, which is berthed at Central Wharf. Earlier in the day the French Consul, M. Paul Serre, paid a visit to the. vessel, and received a .consular salute of seven guns. Officials of the Navv League and tho Cercle Franchise also called on Captain Deeoux and presented the compliments of their respective organisations. Among other . callers were Mr. M, R.
