The Northern Company advises that in future the Waiheks steamer will not call at Ponui Island to land or pick up passengers. With a full cargo of timber loaded at Auckland, Opua and Hold ansa, tho Lamb isteamer Omana arrived at Sydney yesterday. i . The Whangape left Dunedin at 4 o'clock on Monday afternoon for Lyttelton, Wellington and probably Picton, to complete loading for Auckland. The Kaimanawa moved from Chelsea to Western Wharf yesterday to complete discharge of coal. She is to sail today on her return to Westport. ■ From Auckland, via way ports, the Katoa reached Dunedin at .11.30 a.m. yesterday morning. She is to load at Dunedin and will leave on Friday for Oainaru, Timaru, Lyttelton and Wellington to complete loading for Auckland. The Richardson Lino steamer Parora arrived from Hick's Bay and landed sheep at Orakei. Afterwards she left for Hick's Bay for more sheep. She is due back at Auckland tomorrow and-will then load for Tokomaru Eay, Tologa Bay and Gisbonie. WAITOMO FOR NEWCASTLE. After being over a month at Auckland tho Waitomo is to sail to-morrow for Newcastle.

THE MATA.KANA. The Shaw, Savill and Albion Company advises that tho Matakana is scheduled to leave Liverpool on February 13 with cargo l frOm West of England porta for discharge- at Auckland. Wellington, Lyttelton and Dunedin. Sho is duo at Auckland on March 23. , Tho company's steamer Mahana is to follow from Liverpool on April II for the Fame ports in New Zealand. Sho is echeduled to reach Auckland on May 18. TRANS-PACIFIC CARGO STEAMERS. The following is tho latest itinerary of tho Union Company's trans-Pacific cargo steamers:— The Huuraki left Sydney on January 11 for Fanning Island and Vancouver. Sho is due at Vancouver on February 4. The Waitemata arrived at Vancouver on January 8 from Fiji, and is expected to reach San Francisco to-day, to complete her loading for Napier, Lyttelton, Dunedin, and New Plymouth The Willaston. The 'AVaihei.no leaves Lyttelton about February 1 for Vancouver. The Wairuna left Auckland last night for Wellington, Melbourne and Sydney, to complete discharge of cargo from Pacific Coast ports. WAHINE'S FAST PASSAGE. 'l'! 10 Union Company's ferry steamer waiune, which took a largo number of exoursionista across to Picton on Friday made an extremely fast passage both ways. Her actual steaming time from Wellington Wharf to Picton Wharf was 2h 30m, which vrorks her speed out at 21.2 knots. On tho return trip her steaming time from wharf to wharf was 2h. 27m., which runs out at 21.6 knots. HERTFORD DELAYED. The Federal Line steamer Hertford has been delayed at Napier and in consequence will not leavo there before Saturday for Auckland, according to advice received by the local agents, the New Zealand Shipping Company. She is due on Monday morning and will complete loading at Auckland for London and West of England porta. It is hoped to despatch her for London next Wednesday, TOFUA IN PORT. An arrival at Auckland yesterday morning was the Union Company's Island steamer Tofua from Tonga, Samoa and Fiji. She 'berthed at King's Wharf to land passengers, mail hud 1700' tons of Island produce. Included in the produce is over 19,000 cases [.of bananas and 100 tons of copra. Since leaving Auckland on January 4 fine weather prevailed throughout the Tofua's voyage. Her departure from Auckland for the Islands has been fixed for 11 o'clock on Saturday morning. THE RUAHINE. The local office of the New Zealand Shipping Company has received advice that the Ruahine is now to leave Wellington at noon on Saturday for Auckland, arriving on Monday. TRENEGLOS FROM NEW YORK, Tho Hain steamer Treneglos arrived from Now York yesterday afternoon. Sho is discharging case oil and general cargo at King's Wharf to tho agency of the New Zealand Shipping Company. The other unloading ports aro Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin and Bluff. The Treneglos sailed from New York on December 17 and cleared Panama on Decombor 28. Exceptionally boisterous weather was experienced in the Pacific, with fresh to strong south-east winds and rough seas from Balboa until after passing Pitcairn Island. The wind then changed to the east-north-east and continued to blow strongly from that direction, accompanied by heavy rain storms and high following seas. On Saturday torrential rain _ fell for several hours, and in the evoning the wind shifted suddenly to tho westward. The weather then moderated and continued to improve as the Treneglos ncared Auckland. Tho ship is running under the auspices of the A. and A. Line. * This is her first visit to Now Zealdnd. but she mado a voyage to Australia some years ago. Usually she trades from European ports to Argentine and the East.
