THE HUAPAI ORCHARDS.
STORM DAMAGE IN PLACES. [BY TELEGRAPH. OWN CORRESPONDENT. ] HUAPAI, Monday. Tho recent storm did considerable damage to orchards in exposed positions of the Huapai district. The orchardists' sayit was the heaviest gale from the North East since tho trees reached any size. Several trees were blown over, while many hopantha shelter belts are showing tho effect of the storm. Tho excellent shelter on most of the orchards, however, saved most of the fruit, although one or two growers report that up to 25 per cent, of their crop in certain blocks is on tho ground.
