GOOD WORK ACCOMPLISHED. [Br TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] WHANGAEEI. Friday. Good work has been accomplished by the Public Works Department on tho road between Mangamuka and Victoria Valley, a distance of 14 miles having been metalled in 14 months. In future tho route;-, will, . be" open - to motor-car traffip "both in summer and . winter." In tho Bay of Islands the department has carried out an engineering survey of a new 1 , location for .the road between Mangamuka jand Eangiahua. -is This will be finished in about three weeks. It will shorten the. distance between! the two places by about a mile, besides giving easy grades and curves on the clay road.
