HEART OUTSIDE CHEST.
BIRTH IN CZECHOSLOVAKIA. A REMARKABLE OCCURRENCE. A. and N.Z. LONDON.'Jan. 7. The Berlin correspondent of the Daily Telegraph reports that the Prague newspapers have announced the birth of a boy in Czecho-SLovakia with his heart outside his chest. The child has already lived a week,, though its strength is rapidly ebbing. The heart, which is now being fortified with stimulants, has been protected by a glass bell. •) .• •; Under the doctors' continuous observation, the movements of the child's heart have been registered on several hundred yards of film. This is the first timo in history that such a prolonged observation of the activity of the human heart has been obtained. It is believed that the results will be of great scientific value.
