WATERSIDER'S DEATH.

OPENING OF THE INQUEST. Evidence concerning the sudden death of Charles Davis, waterside worker, aged 51, who collapsed while unloading coal from the Kaituna at Chelsea on Monday evening, was given at an inquest yester- | day, before Mr. J. W. Poynton, S.M., coroner. Sergeant Flanagan appeared for the police. Frederick Davis, waterside worker and brother of decerned, said he saw deceased at about 6.30 p.m. He then seemed to ;be in his usual health. The inquest was adjourned sine die.
