ILLEGAL SALE OF AL~COHOt. YOUNG GIRL'S BIG EARNINGS. NEW YORK. Ptc. 28. Prohibitionists have arrested 40 persons and charged them with tho illegal sale of alcohol to synthetic distillers. Among them was a pretty young girl, who was dressed most expensively, though she followed the occupatiou of saleslady in a departmental store. The girl is reported to have been earning £2OO a day by selling alcohol. Another interesting sidelight on prohibition enforcement is contained in official statistics. During the year 1925, 60,000,000 gross of bottle corks were manufactured in tho United States.
