TITIRANGI.
Sir,—Along with those vandals who destroy the bush on Titirangi and Waitakere Range, I would place those who are endeavouring to change the names of these noble hills, to tho hackneyed " Blue Mountains." Blue mountains aro scattered over the globe—as brilliant an inspiration in nomenclature as " Brown s Bay " or " McDonald's Mistake." Why change tho names? "Titirangi," I am informed, means " Fringe of heaven; and yet we aro to reject that poetic beauty. If there is any sense in the change why not call Rangitoto " Brown Mountain." Titiraxoi.
