Kesults aro:— _ Men's Championship Singles.—Hae-go (Victoria) beat Robson (Auckland), 6—2, Ladies' Championship Singles,—Miss Bennett beat Mrs. Marshall. 6—2. 6—l. Men's Championship Doubles.—Haego and Malfroy beat Robson and Clark (Auckland), 6—2, 5—6,. 6—3. Ladies' Championship Doubles.—Mrs. Boilings and Miss East beat Misses Pragnell and Cameron, 6—2, 6—l. The combined championship doubles was not finished. THE WILDING SHIELD. WELLINGTON'S PROSPECTS. _ [BY TELEGRAPH.—OWN CORRESPONDENT.] CIiRISTCHURCH, Monday. Having succeeded in wrenting tho Wilding Shield from Auckland, tho Canterbury Lawn. Tennis Association now expects to be called upon to face a challango from Wellington. In Peacock, Wilson, L. Franco, Smyth and Androws Wellington has five top-notch players. Assuming that all fivo wore available it is difficult to pick the one who would fail to secure inclusion in a Wilding shield team of four. . It is certain that a very formidable team could bo chosen, and that tho Canterbury players would need to bo at the top of their form to hold tho shield.
