Two violent earthquake shocks were experienced in Venice last evening, each lasting 12 seconds. A violent tremor was also felt at Trieste. Another message states that tho city was wrapped in a thick fog, when it was suddenly illuminated by flashes produced by the destruction of electric wires. A crash of stones followed. People were seized with panic and many fled from the cinema theatres, which were crowded at the time. No details of the damage have been received.
