PICNIC PARTY TRAGEDY.

WOMAN'S NECK DISLOCATED. [BY TELEGRAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION.] NELSON. Saturday. A single woman, Miss Lucy Olsen, aged 25, met her death in tragic circumstances at Thorpe yesterday, where she had accompanied a picnic party from the town. While at a farmhouse she got into a trap standing in the shed, and two of the party, in a spirit of fun, got hold of the shafts and pulled the vehicle out. Miss Thorpe's head struck against a beam in the doorway and her neck was dislocated. She died in a few minutes. At the inquest a verdict of accidental death was returned.
