CUSTOMS REVENUE.

THE RETURNS FOR AUCKLAND. PAST YEAR'S LARGE TOTAL. TWO AND A-HALF MILLIONS. DECEMBER A BUSY MONTH. The customs revenue for the port of Auckland for 1925 was £2,451,784, compared with £2,253,764 for the preceding year, an increase of £198,020. The busiest ihonth of the year was November, when the revenue was £244,411, compared with £192,383 in 1924. The largest monthly" revenue in that year was recorded in October, the amount being £220,948. This year October's yield was £200,038. December was a considerably busier month than usual on pcconnt of the strike of British seamen. Goods were held up and large shipments were unloaded just in time for Christmas. On the whole the year has been normal from the customs' point of view, and the steady increase in revenue that has been observed for some years past was well maintained.
