MOTOR-CYCLIST'S DEATH.

ACCIDENT AT AVONDALE. CONCLUSION OF THE INQUEST. The inquest into the death of Edgar Lewis Heenan, aged 21, who died in the Auckland Hospital on the afternoon of December 13, as the result of being thrown from a motor-cycle at Avondalo earlier in the day, was concluded on Thursday, before Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., Coroner. Horace Speight, engineer, said he was on duty at the G.O.C. Garage, Avondale. Heenan came for a motor-cycie and rode away. As he approached the corner of Blake Street on the concrete he made no attempt to cut off his engine and lost control of the machine. He ran into some loose shingle lying on the concrete and the machine swerved to the right and ran into a building, throwing the rider off. Dr. 0. S. Hetherington, house surgeon at the Auckland Hospital, said that Heenan sustained injuries to the head, chest and abdomen. An operation was performed and he died soon after. The coroner found that death was caused by shock, following injuries through being thrown from a motor-cycle.
