MINE MANAGERS' REPORTS
Moanataiari.—The oast crosscut has btwn advanced sft., a total of 263 ft. AVe aro still in good country, with a little seepage coming from tho face. The west crosscut nas been advanced 6ft., a total of 244 ft. The country is of a very kindly appearance. The Caledonia reef lias been advanced lift., a total of 173 ft. Tho country in tho face is of a nice mild nature and a leader which looks promising is coming in from tho hangingwall. This is about 2in. wide. We continued tho crosscut through the reef and reached the footwall, but no gold was seen. There is still no oign of tho slide in tho Caledonia face. Alburnia.—The Norwegian level on Carpenter's reef has been extended by 12ft. The country passed through is of a good class, being firm and bloeky and ail that is wished for to encase a gold-bearing reef. The pug seam on tho footwall side is reduced in size to about lin., and it is hoped that in tho near future the country rock and quartz will adhere to each other and values will mako in tho reef.
