Maungnkarumea on Saturday played its first game in the Whangarei Cricket Association's competitions on its home pitch and won by 85 runs on the first innings. Metge, an w-Auckland University player, scored 101 not out for Maungakaramea, the first century of tho Wbangarei season. He also did well in bowling and is evidently an acquisition. Wbangarei secured a three-point win against. Y.M.C.A., who were dismissed for 2fi and 20, R. McLean and W. Ho]lis bowling splendidly. McLean took 11 wickets for 23 runs and Mollis seven for 19. Whangarei compiled 71, McLean carrying his bat for 52. Onorahi led Marsden by 45 to 41 at the end of tho first innings, but secured a threepoint win, scoring GO for four wickets at the second attempt, against, their opponents' toal of <ls.
