WELLINGTON CITY LOAN.
The Union Bank of Australia has been appointed agent for the raising of a snecial loan of £130,000 in London for the Wellington City Council. The bank will offer the loan and the Wellington City street works loan of £200,000 in one prospectus, and make such conditions as to allotment of all or any of the debentures of the, loans as the hank thinks fit. PUKEKOHE POTATOES. [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] PUKEKOHE. Monday. , The week opens with the market for new potatoes firm and prices at last week's level. The quality does not show much improvement, and it is stated that no really prime samples have yet como to hand. PROPERTY SALES. Richard Arthur, Ltd. offered at auction yesterday, in the estate of the late Dr. J. J. Y. Baber, a house at the corner of Tabora and J? emu era Roads. Bidding reached £2450 when the property was passed in. A "three-quarter' acre section with about 12ft, frontage to Tahora Road was sold for £6OO, but the other properties failed to reach the reserve. ft. H. Jones, auctioneer, reports having .<oid by auction at Whonuapai Inst Saturday a seas.de section on behalf of the public trustee, in the estato of John Gray, for £350.
