SALE OF WORK.
A garden party and sale of work arranged by the Young Crusaders' League of Sudan United Mission, was held at Mrs. "Ri miners' residence, Mount Eden, on Saturday afternoon, when there was a good attendance of those interested. Mr. Henry Field opened the sale, and referred to the growth of the Young Crusaders' movement, which was started only eight years ago in Australia, and three years ago in Auckland. There are now six branches in New Zealand, and it is hoped soon to have one in each centre. The Sudan United Mission celebrates its 21st birthday this year, though on the AngloEgyptian side of Sudan the mission was started 13 years ago. There are stationed the two crusader missionaries whom the Young Crusaders' League hope to support entirely. Mr. Field said in concluding that he hoped all would help to dispose of the goods for sale, so that their object might be realised. The Young Crusaders sang their hymn, and some recitations) were given. Orchestral items by Miss Gibbs were rendered during the afternoon. Each branch of the Anckland Crusaders was represented at different stalls. Good business was done at each, and it is hoped that the New Zealand budget will be reached as a result.
