HOLIDAY BOOKINGS.

PLANS OF AUCKLANDERS. MANY GOING TO DUNEDIN. RUSH FROM OVERSEAS LATER. The Auckland office of the Tourist Department is passing through one of the busiest periods of its career. The holiday bookings are much greater this year than in past years on account of the Duncdin Exhibition, and the indications are that hundreds of Aucklanders will visit the exhibition. Almost at any hour of the day one can see from ten to, twenty people at the bureau either making bookings or inquiring about the different resorts, Such a rush lias never before been experienced. " There is no doubt the exhibition is going to affect other resorts," said Mr.. A. K. Wilson, manager of the bureau, on Saturday. " Most of the inquiries are for Dunedin and the bookings for Eotorua, Wairakei and other places are not as good as usual." This .state of affairs would be useful later on when the overseas tourists commenced to come to New Zealand in large numbers. In past years the greatest difficulty had been experienced in gaining accommodation for visitors at the popular resorts, but this year it was anticipated there would be little difficulty in that direction. The number of visitors from overseas was expected to he greater than ever so that the popular resorts would not be so hard hit. Many people who intend to visit the exhibition will take in various resorts on their way, either in the North or South Island.
