NEW PERSIAN REGIME.
REZA KHAN WELCOMED. | RECOGNITION BY BRITAIN. Heater—Times. TEHEBAN. Nov, 6. The new ruler of Persia, Reza Khan, attended an entertainment given in celebration of the change in rulership and was accorded an ovation. He was welcomed by the president of the Medjliss, who expressed the hope that Persia would make progress under his rule. Reza Khan, in reply, said he hoped that, with the help of Parliament, progress in economic, judicial and educational matters would be achieved. The British Minister in Teheran has informed Reza Khan that the Britiish Government will provisionally recognise the new regime, provided that the new Government recognises and complies with its predecessor's obligations to Britain. Nov. 7. j The diplomatic correspondent of the Daily Telegraph says the new Persian S ruler and the Government have shown respect for constitutional methods by sum- ! moning the National Assembly for the ; purpose of settling the future regime. It > is unlikely, he says, that a republic will be adopted, and the choice is likely to rest between an hereditary and an elective i monarchy.
