Pilots at the Port of London are j alarmed at the mud which has been j dredged from the docks in the upper i reaches of the Thames being dumped in Black Deep Reach, 40 miles below Gravesend. They declare the channel is shoaling as a result and is becoming dangerous to navigation. The pilots predict that within five yean the Thames will be closed unless this mud is dumped elsewhere.
