I As a sequel to the racial disturbance at j Linda, which resulted in the death of i William Quinn, an Italian, Faruii Fillipe, j has been committed for tiial on a charge j of murder. After having had an altercation with i a number of Italians on October 27, Wil- I liam Quinn. John Davis and a number of j ' other young men, visited an Italian's i * home at Linda and broke the windows. A j 5 melee followed in which Quinn was j ] fatally stabbed and Davis was seriously j wounded. Several of the other Austra- \ lians suffered minor injuries. One Italian j 3 was arrested. The brawl was the out- : t come of racial feeling, which had been j c simmering for a long time. The local in- I j. habitants resented the employment of j Italians in tho North Lyall mine. I
