Something over £3OOO is being paid by the Palmerston Hospital Board in the maintenance oi patients in sanatoriums. This expenditure, the chairman. Sir Jas. G. Wilson, says, is being thrust upon the boaitl. The maintenance of consumptives should be ' a national matter, just as the sanatorium® themselves axe being maintained by the Government The secretary, Mr. A. J, Phillipps, states that the limited sanatorium accommodation, especially in the North Island, is a serious question. Patients are kept waiting for treatment for a long period. *"
