TIMARU CENTENARIAN.
AN OLD MAN'S DECLARATION. STILL LEADS ACTIVE LIFE. [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN COBRESPONDEXT.] CHBISTCKURCH. Wednesday Writing to the Lvttelton Times, Mr. John Macßobbie, of Luxmore Road, Tmiaru. says:—"Some weeks ago a gentleman on holiday in Timara made inquiries as to the whereabouts o? an old man named Macßobbie, myself, who worked for his father many years ago, and gave him sweets when a little boy. " He found me in a little house in Luxmore Road, off Evans Street, and in the course of conversation, I showed him a letter from my son, Mr. John A. MacRobbie, 552, Great Western Road, Aberdeen, Scotland, stating my age to be 105 years. The gentleman referred to said that if his father were alive be ecu id prove I wms even older than that. He considered it marvellous how a man of my age worked like a young man, digging and putting in crops in my garden, besides keeping my little home clean and comfortable. Twenty years ago I went to Christcliurch, where 1 continued my work, hawking produce and different things in the surrounding districts, returning to Timaru four years ago. Some people doubt my age, but I huve proof of it."
