Farmers' Union blanches have pledged themselves to support any action taken to defeat the aims of the strikers and get the ships away. Mr. W. B. Matheson, acting-president of the New Zealand Farmers' Union, aasd to-day: " There is not sufficient labour to get the produce away, but the Farmers' Union, with other producers' organisations, will see that the labour is available. There are ships in port here nearly fully loaded, and when loading operations are complete the men required to get the ships away will be forthcoming " It is reported that the strikers, who have had free meals and accommodation provided for them, have been working quietly ashore and earning £3 to £4 a week. The unions recalled them, bat the union members who nave been paying the levy are very sore about it. The Wellington Provincial Farmers' Union has docided to summon meetings throughout the district, to deal with the strike situation.
