ONE TREE HILL DISTRICT.

ELECTRIC PUMP INSTALLED. The One Tree Hill Ptoad Board met Inst evening, the chairman, Mr. R. G. Clark, presiding. The engineer reported that the claim for compensation for the taking of the pumping station sfite had been settled at £3lO. of which £250 was claimed by the Crown for loss of the freehold, and £6O by the lessee. The new electric pump and motor had been installed and wtis running very satisfactorily, A test was carried out. at. midnight on Sunday, September 20, and it was found that the pumps were lifting 20 300 gallons an hour. On a conservation basis the cost was equal to not more thnn 4.2 d per 1000 gallons. The installation of this electric pump had rendered the services of an extra van unnecessary. The building inspector reported that 11 permits of a total value of £6750 had been issued since the last meeting. The Onehunga Borough Council wrote stating that the council was favourably inclined toward the inclusion of the arm between Cameron Street and Bockfield Road in the borough. It was decided to ask the council to take the necessary stops to have the change made. \ further request tor a donation was received from the Auckland Provincial court at the Dunedin Exhibition.
