COMMUNITY SINGING.
LAST SESSION OF YEAR. ENTHUSIASTIC GATHERING. The final session of community singing attracted remarkable interest yesterday, the Town Hall being filled to capacity. Mr. J. A. Warnock, Deputy-Mayor, presided. Messrs. George Ward and Bert La Blanc, of the Snapshots Pvevue Company, took turns as song-leaders. Much amusement was caused by their ingenious methods of inducing the gathering to make more vigorous efforts. Mr. Vernon Sellars, also of the Revue Company, was warmly applauded for his solo numbers. Mrs. Geo. Ward presided at the piano. Favour te items, such as "Clementine," "Till We Meet Again," "Mary," "Bring Back My Bonnie." "Let the Rest of the World Go By," "The Long, Long Trail" and "I'm Forever Blowing Bubbles," were most enthusiastically sung. " The Long, Long Trail," sung under the baton of Mr. La Blanc, called for the most hearty singing. "The Bonnie Banks 0' Loch Lomond " was also sung, Mrs. Westard taking the solo part. A bouquet of spring flowers was presented to her in honour of ber enthusiastic support and regular attendance at the sessions. The verses of " Till We Meet Again " were sung as a solo by Mrs. Johnston, while Mr. La Blanc supplied a comic Jewish song. At the close a hearty vote of thanks was passed to all who had assisted in promoting the sessions and to Mr. Warnock, as the representative of the City Council, which had granted the use of the hall on particularly generous terms. The singing of "Pack up Your Troubles" and "Auld Lang Syne" concluded the sessions for the year.
