WORK OF ASSOCIATION. PAST YEAR'S ACTIVITIES. The annual meeting of the Mount Albert Ratepayers and Residents' Association was held last evening in the Presbyterian schoolroom, Balmoral Road, the president. Mr. M. R. O'Callaghan, presiding over a good attendance. Mr. L. E. Rhodes, Mayor of Mount Albert, and Messrs. W. D. Fulton, B. Brigham; R. E. N. Matthews and W. Russell, members of the Borough Council, were on the platform. On behalf of the association Mr. O'Callaghan extended a warm welcome to the Mayor. In his annual report the chairman outlined the various activities of the association during the past year. He considered members could safely claim credit for the appointment of a resident engineer as the association had advocated the appointment for some time- The establishment of a post office, the rearrangement of sections on the tram route, the alteration in the time of the departure of the first- car in the morning were also improvements in the district due to the efforts of the association. The financial statement showed a credit balance of £7. , * The election of officers resulted:—President, Mr.. M. O'Cailaghan; vice-presi-dent, Mr. A. B. Hart; secretary, Mr. R. E. Coombes. Last year's executive of 15 members was re-elected.
