ACCIDENTS IN ENGLAND. YOUNG EARL'S " HAIR-RAISER." € LONDON, B%p\. 27. In the 200-mile international motor race at Brooklands, which was won by Major Seagrave despite a burst tyre. Grey, driving an Austin car, burst a tyre after going 100 miles. Both the driver and his mechanic were seriously injured and were removed to hospital. The Earl of Cottenham, aged 22, who was making his debut on the race track and who was driving an Alvis car. deliberately skidded his rear wheels in order to obtain sharper turns.
