MINE MANAGERS' REPORTS. New Waiofahi.—The reef at the intermediate drive haa been driven on for a distance of sft., leaving 10ft. to reach the estimated point of its function with the reef followed in the drive be'iow. About 2lb, of fair picked atone was selected from the auartz taken down. The crosscut for the Waiotahi-Cambria reef has been extended sft., leaving 45ft. to reach the estimated course of the reef. About 100 ft. of the crosscut has been timbered, bat the face is now in what appears to be the true footwall country, which is being followed with the view of picking up the displaced portion of the Waiotahi-Cambria reef. Sising Sun.—ln No. 1 block. No. 3 reef timbering and filling has been in hand. The lode looks very well and remains about 30in. wide. In No. 2 S block. No. 3 reef a leading stope is in course of operation, and as all timber is in position no time will be lost putting this block into working order. The average width of the reef is 18in., worth £3 15s 2d per tori. In No. 1 S block, No. 1 reef two machines are at work brei.king lode over *n average width of 24m., worth £5 5s Cd iter ton. The lode is becoming much harder and is carrying less lime and oxidised rubble than in stopes lower down Leading stope over intermediate. At this point the lode though small is very promising, showing 12iu. highly oxidised ore worth £8 per ton. As soon as the leading stone on No. 3 reef has been taker, oil a rise to, _ tha 80ft. level will hi put through as quickly as possible to effect ventilation. Battery: For the week ended September 30. 10 stamps ran 27.74 hours, crushing approximately 28 tons ot ore. worth £i 16s 4d oer ton. Recovered from plates, 86oz. amalgam. We found it necessary to put in three sets of timber at the junction of the old level and the crosscut, as the country kept falling away.
