TRAINER AND BOXER.
SERVICES TO R. TROWERN. CLAIM FOR FEES FAILS. The hearing of a dispute over training fees alleged to be due for services rendered to the young professional boxer, Reginald Trowern, was concluded in the Magistrate's Court yesterday. Dan Davies,.trainer (Mr. Sullivan), sought to recover £2O Ssm Thomas George Trowern (Mr. Thwaitea), father of the boxer. Plaintiff said he came to a definite arrangement with defendant last Dumber to train his son for,several fights. Part of the money agreed upon had been paid and the £2O was the balance owing. The defence was that no arrangement was made. Plaintiff actually commenced massaging Trowern in October of last year and it was contended that therefore an agreement in December was impossible. It was stated that plaintiff was not engaged to train defendant's son, hut merely to massage him. The magistrate, Mr. W. R. McKean, said froir the evidence it was obvious no definite arrangement had been made. Mr. Sullivan elected to take a non-suit. Defendant was allowed £lO 13s costs.
