MANUREWA DISTRICT.
TOWN BOARD BUSINESS. The Manurewa Town Board met on Monday evening in the Manurewa Public Hall, the chairman, Mr. A. C, A. Sexton, presiding. Subscription lists were received from the Franklin Massey Memorial committee with a request for assistance in collecting funds to provide a scholarship to bo competed for by children attending any school in Franklin, Manukau, or any part of any electorate which during the late Mr. Massey's service, as member of Parliament was included in Franklin. Agriculture or allied science is to be one of the subjects for examination. The board resolved that further particaiars should be obtained as to the sum aimed at by the committee, the value of the scholarship and the schools at which it would be tenable. The sum of £l4 was voted to the Manurewa Croquet Club for the erection of a shelter shed on its lawn. It was reported that four building permits to the total value of £2BOO, were issued Ijist month.. A road inspection will be made next Tuesday.
