FRANKLIN RETICULATION.
POWER BOARD'S OPERATIONS. [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT, | PUKEKOHE, Tuesday. A meeting of the Franklin Power Board was presided over by the charman, Mr,. J. Dean. The engineer, Mr. T. R. Overton, reported that the second shipment of poles was now being received. About 260 of this lot had bee a railed to the Pukekohe and Waiuku stations. The lorry had distributed 440 poles 3long the Pukekohe-Tuakau lin», the Pukekohe-Aka Aka line streets at Buckland and Tuakau and the Public Works Department line from Bombay lo Pukekohe, which, with the outdoor substation at Bombay, was now being erected. Supplies of cable, etc., ordered under contracts were being delivered. A survey had been made and plans prepared for the loop-line from Buckland to Tuakau, via Harrisville, and tho Aka Aka line had been pegged out for a distance of lOf miles from Pukekohe, bringing it to tho cheese factory. A further 48 persons had signed up for installations, making a tot«U of ISI The extension authorised in Belgium Road, Pukekohe, had been completed. The engineer was authorised to go into the question of road lights throughout Franklin with the County Council. The matter of the extent to which the board should undertake trading in electrical appliances was deferred ""until a meeting on October 22. Messrs. G. H. Hunt and Son's tenders were accepted for two farther groups of wiring installation-—Valley Road, £l2? 14s 3d, and Tuakau, £429 13s 9d. For wiring the board's own cottages and sub station Mr. G. W. Russell's tender of £9l lis was accepted. A 'further £SOOO loan instalment was receivexL-from the Public Trustee.
