— THE ANNUAL REUNION. SUCCESSFUL LADIES' NIGHT. A most enjoyable innovation was made at the combined law and insurance reunion in the Scots Hall last evening, when, for the first time, a " ladies' night " was observed. Mr. W. G. Bell, chairman of the Auckland Underwriters' Association, presided and opened the entertainment with a brief speech. Musical items filled in a pleasant interval until the supper adjournment. Mr. J. B. Johnston, the vice-president of the Auckland District Law Society, then spoke briefly, commencing with a reference to the success of the first ladies' evening. He concluded with a definition of a district iaw society and a neatlyworded apology for the defeat of the law football tear* on Saturday. Further musical items were given and met with as much success as before. The artists contributing were an orchestral quintette, . the Lyric. Four, Miss Lois Evans, Mrs. Winifred Hayes and Mr. Chas. H. Hayes.- Sole items were also given by members of the Lyric Four, The accompanist was Mrs, A. H. Ripley. The function terminated with a spirited rendering o! " Auld Lang Syne."
