MASKED INCENDIARIES.
KENTISH HOMES IN FLAMES. SERIES OF SIMILAR FIRES. A. and N.Z. LONDON. Oct. 4. Three masked men in a two-seater motor-car were seen in the neighbourhood of Hoath, near Deal, Kent, before the outbreak of a fire, which destroyed six homes and rendered over 40 people homeless. These included 25 children. David Hollands, a farm worker, who had been living in one of the dwellings which was destroyed, said he heard a motor-car stop. He got out of bed and saw the car of the masked men. Later it drove off. Hollands returned to bed, but was shortly roused again by people in the roadway shonting "Fire!" Tha outbreak follows a series of fires in the same neighbourhood, attributed to incendiarism. At one fire damage to the extent of £15.000 was done.
