HELICOPTER FAILS.
CRASH IN FIRST TEST. BRENNAN'S DISAPPOINTMENT. A. and N.Z. LONDON. Oct. 4. Mr. Louis Brennan's new helicopter, which for three years the inventor has been secretly building, crashed and was partially wrecked in its first test flight at Farnborough. Only Mr. Brennan and a few officials were present. The pilot raised the helicopter a few feet, when it suddenly fell sideways. The wings were smashed and the body was damaged. Mr. Brennan and two other experts had constructed the machine. Draughtsmen, mechanics and fitters were given only sectional work, thus preventing the slightest knowledge of the complete machine. The aerodrome was closely guarded against foreign secret agents.
