The Union Company's Island steamer Toraa arrived from Suva yesterday afternoon and berthed at Queen's Wharf to land 65 rassengeri sis well as a large cargo of fruit which included 20,940 cases of bananas 79 cases of pineapples, 442 cases of tomatoes and 43 cases of cucumbers. The Tofua eailad from Auckland at noon on September 12 and visited the usual Samoan, Tongan and Fijian ports. She cleared Suva finally at 7 p.m. on October 1. The voyage w:» uneventful throughout, fine weather with light winds and moderate seas being experienced from the time of depa.rture from Auckland until her return. An inter.esung arrival at Auckland yesterday morning m the Union Company's new cargo steamer Kartigi from Montreal. She is oa her maiden voyage having sailed from England on August 2 Her first port of call was Sydney (Cape Breton), which was reached on August 13. After loading steel prod apis the voyage was resumed on August 17 to Montreal, where she arrived on August 20. At Montreal the Kartigi' filled up with . motor-ears, rolls of paper and general merchandise and sailed f>r New Zealand on August 23. Colon was reached on September 5 and after replenishing her bunkers she sleared Balboa the following day.'
