SHAREHOLDERS' CLAIM.
RESCISSION OF CONTRACT. TARANAKI FARMERS' MEAT CO. [BY TELEGUAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION. ] NEW PLYMOUTH. Monday. For seven days the Supreme Court at New Plymouth has been occupied in hearing an action brought by a large number of shareholders in the Taranaki Farmers' Meat Company seeking the rescission of a contract to take shares in the company and a refund of money paid. The company failed some time ago and efforts were made to reconstruct it, but the move failed and eventually the works were sold. It was during reconstruction that tho plaintiffs became shareholders and now thsv sought a rescission of the contract and a refund of their share capital During tho hearing allegations of fraud on the part of the directors were made, hut these were not supported and in Court to-day counsel for tho plaintiffs withdrew these charges. Tho hearing of the evidence was completed to-day and Mr. Justice AI tiers will hear counsel's addresses in Wellington.
