THE POWER BOAT CLUB. [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT. ] TAURANGA. Monday. The Yacht and Power-boat Club has appointed the following committees in connection with the season s racing: Handicap pers: First-class yachts, Messrs. P. F. Carter and H. A. Highet; second and third-class yachts, Messrs J. Robertson and G. Maltby; fourth-class yachts, Mr. C. Hartley. .Racing officials: Messrs. B. Sladden, P. G. Mcintosh, W. Johnson, C. C. Norris, W. Wright and W. S. Harris. Timekeepers; Messrs. H. P. Duff and J. Pemberton. Sailing committee: Messrs. G. C. Maltby, J. Robertson, C. C. Norris and Bag officers. Launches are to be handicapped on the nominative system, the owners handing in the times for their boats. The official opening has been fixed for December 9. It waa announced that 12 trophies had been donated for the season's racing, i;he prospects for which are exceptionally good, especially in the seven footer sailing for boys. Fat cattle, totalling over 300 head, were purchased from Bay of Plenty graziers last week on behalf of an exporting firm. The weather' conditions for the past week have been responsible for an excellent growth of grass and there is now • abundant feed on the dairy farms. The dairy herds are nearly all at full profit and' with a continuance of the present warm weather the milk supplies will soon reach flush.
