ORPHAN CLUBS' MEETINGS.
CLOSE OF THE SEASON.
The final ordinary meeting of the Auckland orphans' clubs for the season was held on Saturday evening, when the president, Mr. J. Drummond, presided over a largo attendance of members and visitors. A capital programme of vocal and instrumental items was provided, the selections given by the orchestra being particularly appreciated. The annual meeting of the Birkenhead and Northcote Orphans' Club was held on Saturday evening. The president, Mr, A. M. Picxford, presided. Officers for the ensuing season, which is to be resumed in May next, were elected as follows: —President, Mr. C. G, Hodgson ; vice-president, Mr. W. J. Wernham; secretary, Mr. H- A. Wernham - } treasurer, Mr. W. ,T. Lethbridge; committee, Messrs. A. M. Pick ford. D. Lawson, A. W. Millar, R. Thompson, L. Wernham, A. W. Messenger and J. Giles; auditor. Mr. A. E. Greenslade; conductor of orchestra, Mr. G. W. Bowes; deputy-conductor, Mr. N. Harris.
