THE REMAINS CREMATED.
[BY TELEGRAPH.—PRESB ASSOCIATION.] WELLINGTON, "Wednesday.
The remains of the late Rev. John Dawson, general secretary of the New Zealand Alliance, were cremated at Karori yesterday. The esteem in which ho was held was shown by a very large attendance at the preliminary service , m the Methodist Church, Taranaki Street, where the principal speakers were the Rev. • James Cocker, Messrs. L. M. Isitt, M.P., and C. M. Luke. The service was conducted by the Rev. T. R. Richards, of New Plymonth, president of the New I Zealand Methodist Conference. All churches were represented, and many public men, including all the* Wellington members of Parliament, were present.
