" These hawkers who trade without a
license arc becoming a nuisance," said Mr. J. W. Poynton, S.M., in the Police Court yesterday, when Arthur Baddy, was charged with failure to secure a hawking permit, " They go about , and frighten women as well as removing small articles," said the magistrate, in imposing ,a fine of £1 and costs., Defendant, who, had one arm in-a sling and walked with the aid of a stick, said he had no other Work. He was allowed 14 days in which to' find the money. - '
