INCTJBSION INTO MOSTO. .* DEPORTATION OF CHRISTIANS ALLEGATION OF A MASSACRE. STATEMENTS BY REFUGEES. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. (Received 9.30 p.m.) A. and N.Z. GENEVA. Sept. 15. Turkish troops have entered the disputed territory of Mosul on the frontier of Irak. Details of the Turkish incursion are embodied in a report from the High Commissioner at Bagdad. It is stated that on September 8 a body of Turks surrounded the Christian village of Baijo and removed the inhabitants to Karcar. They also surrounded t-ho* Christian monastery near Zarawak. About 120 Christians escaped and took refuge in Irak on September 10. Christian refugees,, who have arrived at Zakho, are in a state, of t-errible destitution. They state that the Turks are deporting all the Goyan Christians, numbering 8000 to Bashkal. The refugees declare that many Christians were massacred at Murga, ' Another message from Bagdad states that shots were exchanged between the Turkish and Irak patrols at the Hezal River. The crossing of the river was a breach of the Turkish undertaking.. The British delegation to the League of Nations Assembly has drawn the attention of the council of the League to the attitude of Turkey, who is apparently renewing the policy of the systematic removal of ail Christian populations from territory between the line .claimed by Britain and the so-called "Brussels" line which Britain and Turkey last year mutually promised to respect.
