NEW FERRY STEAMER.
THE VEHICULAR SERVICE. The Devonport Steam Ferry Company has decided to build a new steamer for the vehicular service and the tender of Mr. George Nicool has been accepted for a boat of the same class as the Mollyhawk, the latest of the three vehicular ferries in commission. The principal measurements will be: —Length, 132 ft.; beam, 31ft.; draught, 7ft. 6in. About 36 cars will be transported on one trip. Triple expansion engines have been provided for, giving a speed of about 10 knots. The steamer will not be completed for about a year, when she will run in the Devonport service.
