TO-DAY'S WEATHER. HERALD'S SPECIAL FORECAST. Tho following weather forecast for 24 hours from 7 a.m. to-day was supplied to us by Mr. H. M. Vincent last evening :—The weather will be cloudy and unsettled at times, with rain, particularly in western and southern districts, although intervals of fine and bright conditions are indicated. North-westerly to westerly winds, moderate to strong, squally at tiroes. Seas moderately rough. Barometer, midnight, 30.00 in.; steady. GOVERNMENT REPORT. The Government meteorologist reported last evening that the indications were for northerly to westerly winds, strong to gale, and unsettled cloudy weather, with rain probable generally, and a falling barometer everywhere.
