FAILURE TO MAINTAIN.
A CAMBRIDGE HUSBAND.
[BY TELEGRAPH.—OWN CORRESPONDENT. ] HAMILTON. Wednesday. An order requiring defendant to pay £3 a week toward the maintonahce of his Wife and children was made in the Hamilton Court against Walter Joseph Vickers, of Cambridge, who was charged with failure to maintain. Evidence was given that defendant was addicted to drink and it was suggested that he intended to leave the country. The magistrate suggested a term on Roto Roa Island. This was not acceptable to defendant's mother, but the magistrate stated that if defendant continued his drinking habits he would he brought up b.y the police and. sent to the island. .
