STATE MINES DISPUTE.
THE TIMBERING QUESTION. PROGRESS OF NEGOTIATIONS. [BY TELEGRAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION.] GREYMOUTH, "Wednesday. The State; Miners' Union at a meeting to-day received the report of the delegation which interviewed the Minister for Mines, Hon. G. J. Anderson, at Wellington regarding the dispute over timbering at the mines. It was decided that the delegation should interview the superintendent, Mr. James, This interview, it is understood, failed to prodiice a settlement. The union meets again to-morrow to consider the report of the delegation. In the meantime the State mines are idle.
