Pirongia has been declared a main highway, and this will enable finance to be arranged with which, to improve this important thoroughfare. ■ Dairymen in this district are hoping that the present spell of fine weather will continue, as supplies of hay, etc., are just about exhausted on many farms, and a continuance of bad weather will seriously affect the butter-fat "output. The stock has come through the winter months well, but the wet weather in recent weeks has caused the reserve stocks of fodder to be used up to maintain the condition so essential when dairy cows come to profit.
