A message from St. John, New Brunswick, says tho Premier, Mr. P. J. Veniot, and his Liberal Government were overwhelmed in tho Provincial general elections to-day. The Conservatives, led by Mr. J. B. M. Baxter, gained control of tho Legislature.

Tho final results show that of the 48 seats iu tho Legislative Assembly tho Conservative Opposition candidates secured 36 and the Government candidates tho remaining 12.
